Gomel Oblast of Belarus signed $6 million worth of documents with partners from Tajikistan during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Tajikistan, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko said at an operational meeting on 21 October, BelTA has learned.
Tajikistan hosted a number of meetings, negotiations with the authorities, enterprises and businesses. “Contracts totaling $6 million have been concluded,” Ivan Krupko said.
Gomselmash signed a number of contracts. “The issue was discussed to jointly assemble the main part of the combine harvester at Gomselmash and its finalization at Agrotekhservice in Tajikistan,” the governor said.
According to him, the Belarusian combine harvester was praised by farmers in Tajikistan. “A contract has been signed for the delivery of 40 vehicles in 2025,” he added.
Documents were also signed by Milkavita, Rogachev Milk Canning Plant, as well as by woodworking companies for the supply of laminate and other products.
Gomel Oblast and Khatlon Region signed a roadmap for 2025-2026 to implement an agreement on trade, economic, sci-tech, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
According to Ivan Krupko, Tajikistan is showing its interest in opening a trading house in Belarus, in Gomel and supply dried fruits, early vegetables, cotton and other products.
“There are niches for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation. We need to use all the opportunities,” the governor said.
