Dear friends,
Welcome to Oktyabrsky District!
The land of golden wheat fields, oil deposits, vast woodlands and numerous lakes intertwined with rivers… It is rightly called one of the most beautiful parts of Gomel Oblast and our beautiful Belarus.
Here you will experience traditional benevolence and hospitality, a 500-year-old history full of big events and names, amazing and heroic past steeped in legends and praised in poems and paintings. In the memory of descendants and in books, we will forever remain the "Rudobelka Republic", the "second Moscow", the partisan land. The history of the district is inseparable from the history of the entire country. It is impossible to erase the things the district lived through. The great strength of spirit, courage, perseverance and patriotism of fellow countrymen was marked by a high state award - the pennant "For courage and steadfastness during the Great Patriotic War”.
The new generation of Oktyabrsky residents is building new facilities, running investment projects in all economic sectors, and creating a favorable business environment. We have embraced tradition and modernity to build a better future for our children. We love the place where we live and we want to promote it on the national scale through local brands and academic and creative achievements. Our landmark brands include the Beraginya folklore festival, a number of gastronomic brands known even outside the country, such as Rudobelochka butter and skimmed milk powder, Rudobelsky Gingerbread and traditional Belarusian bread. The district is actively involved in the implementation of priority state programs and is addressing ambitious tasks.
Our diligence and mutual support will result in new achievements and successes. The central, regional and district authorities have created an enabling business environment. Businesses are flourishing and investments are paying back, and the most ambitious plans are being implemented in Oktyabrsky District. We are open to cooperation and interregional and international partnerships, interaction in economic, social and cultural areas.
I hope that a virtual tour of our district will translate into mutually beneficial economic relations, help establish friendly and partner relations in all fields of activity, and attract tourists and investors to our hospitable land.
Everything that has been so far achieved is just another milestone. Ahead of us are ambitious plans to ensure sustainable economic growth, higher living standards, better product quality, higher competitiveness, and rational use of local resources. We also seek to enhance human capacity and, most importantly, to increase the role of the man of labor in every area of life.
Today our people are working for the future of their district and their country. We are hospitable hosts and will be happy to see you on our land. Welcome to Oktyabrsky District!
Yours faithfully,
Irina Namochenko,
